State of the Arts 2013

The c3: Center for Conscious Creativity and The Millennium Project with presented STATE OF THE ARTS 2013: The Future of Fulldome The Vortex Dome at Los Angeles Studios Thursday, December 12, 2013 “Exospace” is an experimental full-dome projection piece that plays with the surreal slippages between psychological and physical space. The project was a collaboration between Lauren Fenton, Karl Baumann, and Nicolette Daskalakis. It was shown at the State of the Arts: Future of Full Dome Festival in LA on Dec 12, 2013. The project began from Lisa Mann’s (USC) installation class that worked with the Vortex Dome LA group. (This is the lo-res version mixed with documentation footage. The original exhibition was projected at 2800×2800.)     Discover the latest trends emerging in the planetarium and fulldome space.  Hear from a panel of experts, experience samples of 360 content, including an immersive performance and a live 360 VJ/DJ session. This year’s State of the Arts 2013 event is designed to present a unique perspective on the cutting edge trends in the fulldome space and how this powerful format can be used to educate, entertain and enhance the arts and media, and what that effect can be be on education, society and culture within the context of immersive storytelling and art. The goals of the evening are twofold; to update the audience on this emerging medium and how it might evolve in the coming decade, what new career opportunities the fulldome space offers, and the social impact and responsibility of creating with conscious intent,  from a cross-disciplinary perspective.  The second goal of all c3 events is to create networking events that bring together thoughtful, visionary creatives, artists, mediamakers, academics, students, business leaders, futurists, scientists, consciousness professionals and those interested in working to discover new ways to progress humanity’s evolution. The State of the Arts 2013 will highlight the unique marriage of art, media, education and technology in our evolving tech-driven age and to look at the future with a perspective on socially beneficial storytelling and content, how the power of Arts, Media and Entertainment can effect consciousness and catalyze individual, educational, social and global transformation....

The Seven Pillars House of Wisdom

2013 The c3: Center for Conscious Creativity served as a sponsor and collaborator with The Seven Pillars House of Wisdom along with several other artists and organizations to create the “Seven Pillars Journey of Wisdom,” a unique two hour experiential journey through Seven Pillars of classical wisdom using art, music, digital visuals, readings and movement.  The c3 Executive Director Kate McCallum served as a Co-Producer and Co-Director and c3 Board Chair Ed Lantz served as Director of the project.   2012 It took place at the Bahi Center in Los Angeles on April 27th, 2012.   For more information visit: www.sevenpillarsjourney.org...

As director of Hollywood, Health & Society (HH&S), a program of the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center, Buffington provides Hollywood’s master scriptwriters and producers with free access to experts to inspire and enhance the social value of their storylines for television, film, and new media. Dana Klisanin, PhD, is founder and executive director of the Evolutionary Guidance Media Research & Design Group. A pioneer in conscious media research, Klisanin, who earned her PhD in psychology from Saybrook University, is currently investigating digital altruism and the emergence of a new archetype: the cyberhero. She is the author of numerous articles and is a frequent presenter at conferences throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. Ed Lantz is CEO and co-founder of Vortex Immersion Media, Inc., an entertainment technology company developing large-scale immersive and interactive experiences. State Of The Arts 2011

The State of the Arts 2011 PRODUCING CHANGE took place on September 15, 2011 and was co-produced with the PGA New Media Broadband Committee and The Millennium Project. The event was preceded by a special c3: VisionLAB Think Tank held in the Vortex Dome.  The conversation was led by c3 Founder and Executive Director Kate McCallum and Jerome Glenn, Futrist and Founder of The Millennium Project and was live streamed by Dyal Productions.  Attendees shared projects and initatives they were supporting and brainstormed on possible ideas and projects that could be activated in support of brining awareness to the 15 Global Challenges and solutions.  Attendees inlcuded featured speakers from the State of the Arts 2010 event, scientists, artists, producers, journalists, educators, city officials and futurists and a philosopher. The evening event featured a panel moderator by Jeanette de Patie, event producer and Chair of the PGA Broadband Committee.   Kate McCallum, c3 founder and Chair of the newly formed Global Arts and Media Node of The Millennium Project, kicked off the event with a welcome and introduced Jerome Glenn who did a brief talk on the Global Arts and Media Node Panelists included Jennifer McClure, founder of SNCR:  Society for New Communications, Writer/Producer Tim Kring recieved the first FUTUREVISION AWARD for socially beneficial storytelling and creativity through the creation of his innovative project CONSPIRACY FOR GOOD.
